Somebody once wrote me, asking, “There are a lot of teachers and students of A Course in Miracles out there, but there must be something which you’ve hooked into, or caught onto? A thing that triggered a transformation or a major healing. So, what was it?”
“Trust,” I said.
Think of your life because it is apparently nowadays with regards to the story. Just how do we answer the question; “Who do I trust? Where do I do believe my safety lies? How will I be sustained? Who’s my source?” So once we discuss the last stage of the awakening being pure trust, it’s simply about disengaging and withdrawing our faith and trust in all of these made-up concepts, beliefs, and ideas in the world. It’s similar to creating a big house of cards, stacking on a single card following the other. A good wind occurs and poof, it’s only blown over. It can’t even stand only a little gust of wind. It’s so frail. It’s so temporary. It’s so transitory; a program in miracles It absolutely was this sense of placing trust in the Spirit and withdrawing trust in anything else; those items that were identified and learned as worldly accomplishments. Why should we trust in those? Have they ever brought us lasting peace and happiness? Are they really trustworthy? It surely comes right down to the essence of who’s my brother? Is it Spirit or matter? Is it Spirit or form? Furthermore how many of us have tried trusting people? Has anybody tried this one?So you’re asking the question, “If someone dies or is apparently dying of starvation, what does that say about their mind?” Where all of this is heading would be to the awareness that everything is mental. What this awakening can tell you is that everything is mental and that everything is really a hallucination. This is an environment of ideas and what we call manifest reality, is not reality at all. There’s no distinction between thought and form. Jesus has to construct his whole workbook in A Course In Miracles on making the bond between thought and form. His lessons begin with, “Nothing I see means anything,” (W-1) and, “I have given everything I see all this is it has for me.” (W-2) Then, He works his way as much as number four, “These thoughts don’t mean anything&rdquo ;.Now, He’s speaing frankly about thoughts. First He’s speaing frankly about perception, then about our thoughts, then He comes home with lessons 5,6,7,8,9 … perception, perception, perception, perception, perception … and then number 10, “My thoughts don’t mean anything.” You can see he’s trying to melt everything together and show the last veil or stage of awakening, that is trust.
The Holy Spirit uses time to teach us there is no such thing as time, to take us back compared to that timeless moment that’s the gateway to eternity. He uses symbols to instruct us that they are all illusions and that they are all equally meaningless. That’s the way of operation of Holy Spirit. The Spirit has to work well with the mind to loosen the attachments from the investment in all sorts of things. What kind of things can you invest in, nowadays?
